Google Panda 4.2 started rolling out this past weekend, on July 18th, Saturday. Google told us it would be a very slow roll out and even on a single domain, it might take months for the rollout to be visible on the whole site. This is not typically how Google has pushed out Panda updates in the past, which is why it is so unbelievable.
But Google has told me on the record that this is how Panda 4.2 is and has been rolling out. Some of you think Google is lying to me but I don’t think so.
As you know, this site was hit by Panda 4.1. At first, it wasn’t clear, but after a few weeks, it became apparent.
And I believe, since Panda 4.2 was released, this site began a recovery. I watch the stats like any webmaster and there is a 35% lift in the organic Google visits this week compared to the past several weeks on a Monday to Thursday schedule.

This is obviously only compared to one week, but I checked several and they are all the same pattern and percentage difference, give or take 2%.
But let’s compare how things are going pre-Panda 4.1, before this site was hit by Panda.
In short, the site is still down 33% on average from it’s Google organic traffic. Here is a graph (note I checked several weeks, as I did above, but used only this chart – click to enlarge).
But as Google said, this is rolling out slowly, even within the same site. So maybe once all my pages on this site are picked up as being Panda free – maybe all that traffic will return? It might take months and I will keep you all posted.
But you can see, even Monday through Thursday, there is a climb in organic Google traffic (the blue line) over the week.
Time will tell, but these are pretty neat signs of a Panda refresh, if I’ve ever seen one.
