Google: The Mobile-Friendly Algorithm Will Be Larger Than Panda Or Penguin

If you had any doubt how big and “significant” the upcoming mobile-friendly ranking algorithm will be for Google’s mobile results, you should remove those doubts now.Google’s Zineb Ait Bahajji, a Webmaster Trends Analyst, said at SMX Munich an hour ago that this algorithm will have a bigger effect than that of Panda or Penguin. This was posted on Twitter by Aleyda Solis and then retweeted by Google’s very own Gary Illyes.Google’s Panda algorithm impacted at its biggest point about 12% of the search queries. Penguin was closer to 4% at it’s max. The big difference here is that this mobile-friendly algorithm only impacts mobile search, not desktop. But that can be around 50% of all queries on Google these days.If your site is not mobile-friendly, it will suffer greatly in the mobile search results. So make sure to get ready now for this April 21st launch.Forum discussion at Twitter.
