Google Search Result Rankings Had A Very Volatile Week: Tremors All Week?

I have to say that this week, starting from last Friday, has been pretty volatile with the organic search results. All week long, people have been asking me if there is a Google update today. Truth is, it feels like tremors all week long. The chatter and tracking tools seem to confirm this as well.

Google will probably say yea, we do updates and don’t get me wrong, I don’t blame Google. It is constantly doing updates:

But the chatter and tracking tools are pretty up and down all week long.

Here is some of the chatter from the ongoing WebmasterWorld forums:

Traffic keeps dropping. Did not make any dramatic changes to the websites since the last update, where I gained traffic. Don’t know what the **** Google is doing.

Very very big drop since monday. Traffic keeps coming iun surges with big periods of no traffic.

Something happening again in the UK… really big!

Zero or 1 hit per hour all day…what happened… again? Unbelievable. Anyone else?

Today keep dropping additional 10%

SEMRush in general is okay but if you dive into the news category, it shows big spikes:

So it looks like a lot of tremors all week long and there does not seem to be an end in sight. The big shopping season is around the corner and it is hard for many sites to relax and be confident in online sales figures at this point in time.
